Inventory basics

A clean stock count without spreadsheets — set it once, then let invoices and purchases keep it accurate.

Inventory

Hamesh tracks stock at the product level. Once you set the starting count, every purchase increases stock and every invoice decreases it — no spreadsheet needed.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Enable inventory

Turn inventory on in Settings. You'll see stock columns appear on products and a new Inventory section in the menu.

  2. 2

    Set opening balances

For each product, enter how many units you currently have. This is your starting point — only do it once.

  3. 3

    Record purchases

Log purchases under Purchases. Each saved purchase adds units to stock and records the cost for reporting.

  4. 4

    Invoice as usual

When you create an invoice with a stocked product, Hamesh automatically deducts the quantity from inventory.

  5. 5

    Adjust when needed

Stock loss, samples, or a recount? Use Adjust Stock with a reason — the history stays auditable.

Helpful tips

Low-stock alerts

Set a low-stock threshold per product. Hamesh highlights items that need reordering.

Don't track everything

Only enable stock for items you actually count. Services and digital products don't need it.
